South Shore Construction Update: August 2016 (PHOTOS)

The south shore of Lady Bird Lake is red-hot right now. In addition to the major projects completed in recent years (including South Shore District, Lakeshore Pearl, and Azul Lakeshore), there are still several more development projects in the pipeline for this rapidly transforming neighborhood. Here’s a rundown of a few projects that are currently under construction in the area:

Lenox Boardwalk

We first told you about this 339-unit luxury apartment complex late last year. The project appears to be well underway with the majority of the project’s parking garage consturcted and the framing for the residential units progressing. The project is being developed and built by Oden Hughes, and the design team includes Davies Collaborative and BIG RED DOG Engineering.

East Shore

East Shore is a development from David Weekley Homes that features 30 fee-standing “city homes”. These homes will range from 1200 to 1800 square feet each with 2 floors of living space above 2-car garages. The site is being developed as detached condominiums – a housing product type that has emerged as a popular choice for developers in the last decade or so.

South Shore Pointe

South Shore Pointe is a 71-unit townhome development from Houston-based InTown Homes. According to their website, the homes are 2- and 4-bedroom units ranging from 1,800 to 3,000 square feet with eco-friendly materials and two-car garages.

Oracle Campus

Site prep is officially underway for Oracle’s planned 560,000 sq. ft. office campus that will be situated on about 25 acres. Demolition of the apartment complex that used to occupy the site has been completed, and now crews are working to clear and grade the remainder of the site. STG Design and TBG Partners are reportedly involved with the design of the campus, which is being constructed by Ryan Cos.
