Rainey Street Condo Tower Breaks Ground (RENDERINGS)
Any Austinite who has enjoyed a patio-filled Sunday Funday or boisterously social happy hour after work has probably spent some time on Rainey Street, one of the most bustling entertainment districts turned popular places to live in the city.
A new luxury high-rise is coming to Rainey Street, adding more great housing options to the area. Sackman Austin broke ground on 70 Rainey earlier this week.
The 34-story luxury high rise condominium will include 164 residences, a second floor patio bar, and a restaurant and will feature stunning views of downtown Austin, the adjacent pocket park, and Lady Bird Lake. It will also feature approximately 20,665 square feet of outdoor amenity space that will include a vanishing-edge pool and waterfall, a spacious garden, yoga deck, sundeck, meandering walkways, and outdoor lounge with kitchen with plenty of greenery and trees, all giving owners a backyard space for relaxation and recreation in the heart of downtown.
Inside residents will find dramatic architecture, world class design, and unsurpassed luxury. Each residence will have elevated ceilings, smart in-home technology (like smart thermostats and a high-speed fiber network), and a large terrace. Penthouse units will include private rooftop terraces. Other amenities inside the building include sauna, steam showers, fitness facility, a therapeutic plunge pool, outdoor kitchen, catering kitchen, and business center. To show off the condo’s pet-friendliness there will also be a dog park and washing/grooming station.
“Today is the culmination of a tremendous amount of hard work and positive collaboration among Sackman Austin, City of Austin officials, Rainey Street District Neighborhood Association, Rainey Business Coalition, the Mexican American Cultural Center and many other stakeholders,” said C.J. Sackman, director of development for 70 Rainey. “We are excited and proud to see our shared vision for the future of this treasured downtown cultural district beginning to take shape.”
Residents will be steps away from some of downtown’s best eats and drinks found at Via 313 Pizza, Craft Pride, G’Raj Mahal, Half Step, and Banger’s, among many others. It’s also a super quick hop to the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail and the Mexican American Cultural Center.
The developer expects to see 70 Rainey complete during the first quarter of 2018, and Sackman Austin is currently accepting reservation for residences.
