Crane Watch: Eastside Village

Did you notice the tower crane that appeared in East Austin over the weekend? That was the tower crane for Eastside Village – a mixed-use project at the corner of 6th and Comal with 7,500 square feet of retail space, 348 apartment units, and 94,500 square feet of office space.

The project is an urban infill transit oriented development (TOD) near Capital Metro’s Plaza Saltillo station. Eastside Village is being built on the former site of Arnold Oil, who vacated the 4.1-acre site in 2014 to move to a larger facility.

Crews are already well underway with the tilt-wall concrete panels for the office building portion of the project, which can be seen in the photo above. Harvey-Cleary is the general contractor for the office portion of this project, while Andres Construction is the builder for the multifamily portion.
